Prepare a target before the event

1. Inspect the equipment you expect to keep through the next important fights.
2. Check for temporary-item expiry or an imminent replacement.
3. Enter the Blacksmith event with an eligible current target in mind.
4. When the gem is offered, compare its effect with that target and resolve the current choice.

A later visit may suit better equipment

An early visit can be poor value when every equipped item is disposable. A later Blacksmith branch may suit a settled build better, if the route offers one.
