Lootbound has full controller support

Use the on-screen prompts shown by the current Lootbound build. The game has full controller support, and Steam Deck's default controller configuration passes compatibility review. Start with the default input setup and leave it unchanged while controls are responding normally.

If input stops responding or the displayed prompt does not match the controller in use, pause before changing several settings. Keep only the intended controller active and work through the conditional checks below one at a time.

Fix an input action that is not responding

Test after each step and stop as soon as input works. Reconnecting, restarting, returning to default Steam Input, and verifying files are safe conditional troubleshooting steps; they do not identify a specific cause or promise a particular prompt change.

  1. If input is unresponsive, disconnect duplicate controllers or inactive input devices.
  2. If the issue remains, return to the menu and reconnect the intended controller.
  3. If controls still do not respond, close and restart Lootbound.
  4. On Steam Deck, if a custom Steam Input layout is active and the issue remains, return to the default configuration.
  5. If the earlier checks do not resolve the issue, close the game and verify local files.

Handle the Steam Deck text limitation separately

Small interface text is the listed Steam Deck limitation; it does not mean the controller configuration or performance failed. Use a comfortable display setup and inspect tooltips carefully before reward, aura, and temporary-item decisions.
