Open the platform-specific LootBound Data folder
Lootbound stores its current save files in the ArtDock LootBound Data directory. Use the exact folder for your operating system below. The files inside use the .data suffix. Close Lootbound before copying or replacing anything so every file belongs to one completed write.
Copy the entire Data folder rather than selecting one unfamiliar file. This preserves the files as a consistent set and makes restoration straightforward.
| Platform | Folder |
|---|---|
| Windows | %USERPROFILE%/AppData/LocalLow/ArtDock/LootBound/Data |
| macOS | ~/Library/Application Support/com.ArtDock.LootBound/Data |
| Linux | ~/.config/unity3d/ArtDock/LootBound/Data |
Create a clean manual backup
Steam Cloud support does not replace a fixed manual copy before file verification, reinstalling, device migration, or hero-unlock troubleshooting. A dated folder lets you restore one known state instead of guessing which synchronized file is current.
- Return to the Hub and close Lootbound normally.
- Open the platform path listed above.
- Copy the complete Data folder to a separate backup location.
- Name the backup with the date and device.
- Keep the original folder unchanged until the copy is confirmed.
Restore without mixing save states
Close Lootbound, preserve the current live Data folder as a second backup, then place the chosen backup as one complete set. Do not mix .data files from different dates. Launch the game, check the Hub, heroes, and progression, and close normally after confirming the state.
If Steam Cloud presents a conflict, choose deliberately between the known local backup and the cloud state. Keep both copies until the game has opened and saved the intended progression successfully.
