Select the enemy and read its target condition
Inspect each enemy's attack information to see its damage type, target rule, and attached effects. An attack aimed at the character with the highest Defense Power is not the same as a random-target attack. Do not assume your Paladin attracts every hit.
Identify the exposed character
- Select or hover the enemy to open its attack information.
- Read the target condition before comparing its attack power.
- For a stat-based condition, compare the named stat across your party.
- Protect that character or remove the attacker; for random targeting, consider every eligible party member.
A targeting rule is not a damage guarantee
Check the attack's buff or debuff as well as its immediate damage. A survivable hit can strengthen later attacks. Enemy critical hits and dodges also make a one-hit survival margin unreliable.
