The controlled hero's death ends the expedition
Your main character must survive. Lootbound ends the run when that hero dies, even if companions are still standing. A healthy companion cannot take over the controlled role and carry the expedition to a campfire.
Protect the character whose defeat ends the run
- Identify the controlled hero's remaining Health before spending the turn.
- Inspect which enemies can target that hero next.
- Use available protection, recovery, or threat removal before gambling on a final attack.
- After a loss, correct the hero's exposed weakness before starting the next expedition.
Do not transfer the companion recovery rule
A fallen companion and a defeated main hero are different failure states. Campfire revival helps while the expedition is still running; it cannot be your plan for surviving the controlled hero's death.
