Earn Memory Shards by clearing rooms

Clear rooms to earn Memory Shards. Patch 1.1.5 increased the number awarded from room clears, so the dependable way to improve Shard income is to complete more rooms with a stable party. Build one focused damage lane, keep companions in reliable roles, and preserve enough mana for elites and bosses so the run continues producing clears.

Do not sacrifice a working inventory for an unrelated side objective when the next room is already the confirmed Shard opportunity. A run that clears several additional rooms provides both more practice and more Shard income than a fragile attempt built around speculative detours.

Plan the next run around one more room

After a loss, identify the condition that stopped the next room clear: damage, armor access, survival, mana, targeting, or grid congestion. Change that one layer on the next attempt. Memory Shard income then becomes a clear progress signal: reaching and clearing additional rooms directly improves the confirmed earning path.

Keep the same class and central build idea while testing the correction. If the party reaches farther, preserve the change. If the same failure repeats, adjust that layer again. This loop remains useful without assuming what currency buys a particular Hub item or upgrade.

Keep Hub purchase achievements on a separate checklist

Three achievements track Hub purchases: Buy all dice in the Hub, Buy 15 consumables in the Hub, and Buy all upgrades for a single hero in the Barracks. Track these as separate completion goals. Memory Shards are confirmed as room-clear rewards; keep Shard earning and purchase completion as separate plans instead of assuming one pays for the other.

When working on Hub completion, record which dice and consumables have been bought and choose one hero for the Barracks objective. When working on Shard income, return attention to room clears. Keeping the two checklists separate prevents an achievement condition from being mistaken for a currency rule.

  1. Record the current Memory Shard total before a run.
  2. Clear as many rooms as the stable build allows.
  3. Record the total after returning to the Hub.
  4. Track dice, consumable, and Barracks purchase achievements separately.
  5. Change one run weakness before the next Shard-earning attempt.

Use Shard totals to compare run consistency

Compare Shard totals across runs only after noting how many rooms were cleared. A higher total paired with deeper progress shows that the party is using the confirmed earning path. A lower result after an early loss points back to the run failure rather than to an assumed Hub purchase strategy.

Patch 1.1.5 changed the room-clear award, so comparisons should use the current version. Do not compare current income with a demo or older patch as if the rate were unchanged.

  • Record Shards before and after each run.
  • Record the number of rooms cleared.
  • Compare attempts played on the current patch.
  • Diagnose the room that ended the earning sequence.

Build a reliable Shard-earning loop

Start with a practiced class, build one coherent damage lane, give companions clear automatic jobs, and preserve mana for the encounter that usually ends the attempt. Take the guaranteed common reward when it fixes an immediate weakness; roll only when the stable board can absorb a miss. These decisions support the one confirmed goal: clearing more rooms.

After returning to the Hub, record Shards and the stopping point, then repeat with one correction. The loop is simple and measurable: stable build, additional room clears, increased current-version Shard income, one failure diagnosis, and another attempt.
